Trudeau lashes out at media after hot mic fails to catch ‘sickest burns’

T

ORONTO — Responding to a hot mic catching him and other world leaders laughing at President Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau criticized the media Thursday for failing to capture his best Trump jokes.

“I’m sorry, but because the media failed to record me when I was really on a roll, North Americans today are missing out on my sickest burns,” Trudeau said. “The clip the media has been circulating only serves to perpetuate the false narrative that I’m not funny.”

Reached for comment, the Trump administration quickly dismissed the sight of Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, British PM Boris Johnson, Dutch PM Mark Rutte, and Princess Anne laughing together about the U.S. president’s many shortcomings and broad incompetence.

“The video clip in question is an absolute nothingburger,” White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said. “The fake news media only wants to make a big deal out of this ‘hot mic’ moment because they missed out on the parts where Prime Minister Trudeau made fun of his fake hair, his weird orange skin, his naked profiteering, and how much his wife hates him. Sorry, CNN: you snooze, you lose.”
